Two Books I Recommend: History of Love and A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose

A History of Love by Nicole Krauss

One of my favorite quotes from this book is: “the truth is the thing I invented so I could live.” I am looking for my writings about this book from the past, locked forever in my inaccessible over-sized Outlook file, but all I can say is “If you haven’t read it, read it!”. I won’t presume to say it will echo in your mind forever (you probably have a noisy mind already) but it echos in mine and every time I get an opportunity to listen to a clip of some of it’s text, I take that opportunity.

Another book that I KNOW will be helpful to anyone who reads it, either as a reenforcer or a teacher, is Echhart Tolle’s “A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose”. My copy is full of underlinings. Some of the ideas have their sources in other and even ancient works, which are given full credit. Some of these ideas I have met in other places that gave Tolle or the sources credit. I learned some things, reinforced some things, catch myself more often when I don’t follow those teachings that I accept (it’s not always easy to do the right thing). But the messages in this book provide some pretty useful guidelines for life and connecting to the better part of ourselves/the universe.
